Nottingham University Hospitals NHS invites applications for a Consultant in Anaesthesia. The post features a draft 10 PA contract with Direct Clinical Care sessions across sub-specialty areas and flexible DCC slots, plus on-call cover for a single campus.
Applicants may be considered for part-time work with content modified by agreement. The post may require future sessions on either campus as service needs evolve.
The post has a draft job plan which best reflects our assessment of what the final plans will be, based on an initial 10 PA contract. The job plan consists of regular Direct Clinical Care (DCC) sessions in areas of sub-specialty practice, plus flexible DCC sessions which will be scheduled after agreement with the successful candidates. The post holder will contribute to the general, cross-campus out-of-hours service covering a single campus per on-call. These duties are subject to review from time to time in the light of the changing requirements of the service. If alterations to the described duties are required these will be mutually agreed between the appointee, his/her Consultant colleagues and the Trust.
Any Consultant who is unable, for personal reasons, to work full-time will be eligible to be considered for the post on a part-time basis; if such a person is appointed, modification of the job content will be discussed on a personal basis with the Trust in consultation with Consultant colleagues. Anaesthesia provides a clinical service across both campuses. It is anticipated that the post holder may be reasonably asked to provide clinical sessions on either campus in the future as required by the service.
