Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in Derbyshire seeks a substantive, full-time Consultant in Ophthalmology to support services within our friendly Eye Centre. The department is expanding and welcomes an enthusiastic clinician to work with the existing team, with links to the Tertiary Trust at Sheffield and involvement in the Northern Derbyshire DR screening programme.

Job description

This is a substantive, full time appointment for a Consultant in Ophthalmology to support delivery of services within our friendly modern and well-equipped Eye Centre.

Our service is expanding, and an enthusiastic and committed individual is sought to work with our existing clinical team at what is an exciting point in service development. The Department has links with the Tertiary Trust at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals and delivers the Northern part of the Derbyshire Diabetic Retinal Screening (DRS) programme.

We are seeking someone with good general ophthalmic skills and consideration can be given to candidates with varied sub-speciality interests so long as these align with departmental operational requirements.

We would be particularly interested to hear from individuals who are on the Speciality Register, who have an interest in medical education as the Department will be taking on higher speciality trainees in the forthcoming year.

1:11weeks NROC - shared cover with Kings Mill Hospital. A week of nights and weekend is done around every 11 weeks second on call with an experienced Specialist Grade first on call.
