Practice Plus Group Holdings Limited is seeking a Consultant Ophthalmologist to join our team in Bristol, delivering high-quality ophthalmology care across a range of procedures. You will operate at Emersons Green Hospital with occasional cross-site work at the Day Surgery Centre in Devizes, Wiltshire, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure excellent patient outcomes.

The role requires UK registration and specialist GMC status, with opportunities for both full-time and part-time

Qualifications

• Ophthalmology procedural skills required.
• Experience with common eye examination techniques.
• Competence in pre- and post-operative assessment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver ophthalmology procedures for referred patients.
• Work with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high standards of care.
• Follow established clinical protocols and practices under supervision.
• Provide expert clinical opinion across ophthalmology cases.
• Occasionally cross-site work at Devizes Day Surgery Centre when required.

Job description

This is an excellent opportunity for an innovative clinician looking to support a high-quality ophthalmology service while bringing specialist skills and expertise to an established team. As a Practice Plus Group Consultant, you will work in a well-equipped, professional, and supportive environment, delivering outstanding clinical care across a range of ophthalmology procedures. Working alongside a friendly and compassionate multidisciplinary team, you will help ensure every patient receives the highest standard of treatment and care. Reporting to the Hospital Medical Director, you will undertake ophthalmology procedures for patients referred to our services, working in line with established protocols and clinical practices. The role will be primarily based at Emersons Green Hospital in Bristol, with occasional cross-site working at our Day Surgery Centre in Devizes, Wiltshire, when required., As well as being able to offer expert clinical opinion on a range of problems within ophthalmology from your wide training and extensive experience, you will required to demonstrate a high level of skill in the operative and non-operative aspects on the management and assessment of the following areas: Slit-Lamp examination Gonioscopy Fundoscopy Tonometry Refraction You will also be required to demonstrate a high level of operative skill in the following areas: High Volume Phacoemulsification under topical anaesthesia (essential) Eyelid surgery Laser treatment

We are seeking an experienced Consultant Ophthalmologist with at least two years' experience to join our dedicated medical team.
