Job summary

Practice Plus Group is seeking a Consultant Urologist to join a multi-discipline medical team. This role can be full-time or part-time, with access to high-quality day-case treatment and a patient-focused environment. NHS or privately funded care is provided, with no on-call commitment but urgent assessments as needed.

You will perform urological procedures, offer expert opinions, and support colleagues; you will engage in CPD and professional development within a friendly team.

Qualifications

• Qualified urological surgeon on the Specialist GMC Register (FRCS or equivalent).
• Able to conduct a clinical audit.
• Broad general experience of urology with endoscopic expertise.
• Work well in a multidisciplinary team.
• Self-awareness and ability to develop others.
• Ability to teach clinical and practical skills.
• Strong communication with patients and staff in writing and speech.

Responsibilities

• Perform urological surgical procedures for patients referred to the hospital.
• Provide expert clinical opinion on a range of urological problems.
• Cross-cover for colleagues during absences, including annual leave.
• Assess patients urgently in person on request by the on-duty RD.
• Contribute to teaching and training of junior staff where appropriate.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Multi-discipline medical team as a Consultant Urologist on a full-time or part-time basis. As a Practice Plus Group Consultant you will have access to great facilities in a well-structured and relaxed environment. We offer high quality day case treatment in a wide range of specialities and deliver excellent clinical care. You will be joining a team committed to delivering the highest standards in patient care, as demonstrated by our success in obtaining a CQC Good rating. You will be a highly valued member of our team bringing your expertise and skills in Urology. As part of our professional, friendly and compassionate team you will do everything you can to ensure the patients treatment is of the highest standard whether NHS or privately funded. You will be performing Urological surgical procedures on patients referred to the Hospital, working in accordance with hospital protocols and working practices. From your extensive experience you will able to offer expert clinical opinion on a range of Urological problems. There is no on-call commitment but post holders must be prepared to assess patients urgently in person on the unit as requested by the Resident Doctor (RD) on duty during routine working hours. Post holders will be expected to provide cross-cover for colleagues during periods of absence, including for example annual leave and study leave whenever possible., As UK registered medical professional, with a listing on the Specialist GMC register, we will support you with your ongoing CPD and career development. To provide an onsite urology service to meet the needs of patients treated at both Practice Plus Group Hospital Emersons Green and Devizes Surgical Centre. Whilst the working week will comprise an agreed number of sessions based on the total number of contracted hours, working patterns will be flexible and may entail an ad-hoc mix of late evenings and weekend work to meet the requirements of the unit.
