Job summary

University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for a Consultant in Medical Microbiology, with or without Infectious Diseases, to join the Department of Infection at Worthing and St Richard's Hospitals. The role includes 10 sessions per week with 1 in 4 on call, contributing to high-quality infection services.

The successful candidate will work with a team of Infection Doctors and support outpatient clinics, OPAT, antimicrobial stewardship, and education.

Qualifications

• Full and specialist GMC registration or eligible within six months of interview.
• CCT in Medical Microbiology +/- Infectious Diseases or equivalent.
• Higher Degree

Responsibilities

• Manage infections through direct clinical liaison and antimicrobial stewardship rounds.
• Provide comprehensive infection services including samples interpretation and infection prevention advice.
• Take lead roles in OPAT, Arthroplasty, infection control, and antimicrobial stewardship; contribute to teaching and governance.
