Job summary

NHS Dumfries & Galloway is recruiting a Consultant Microbiologist (With or Without Infectious Diseases) to join a well-equipped, UKAS-accredited laboratory at Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary. The post is full-time with a generous salary band and a collaborative, regional team.

We support flexible and less-than-full-time options, with opportunities to develop specialist interests, teaching and CPD, and a balanced, supportive professional environment.

Post: Consultant Microbiologist (With or Without Infectious Diseases)

Salary: £111,430 - £148,064

Hours: Full Time 40 hpw/10 PAs

We are currently recruiting for a Consultant Microbiologist to join us at Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary.

You’ll be joining two friendly Consultant colleagues in a well‑equipped, UKAS‑accredited laboratory, working closely with teams right across the hospital and wider region.

Whether you bring experience in Infectious Diseases or simply an enthusiasm for collaborative working, you will be supported to shape your role and grow your interests.

Our job plans are flexible and built with wellbeing in mind. Less-than‑full‑time options are welcome.
