Job summary

University Hospital Of North Durham is seeking a Consultant Microbiologist to join the team. You will work autonomously, including on-call shifts, and contribute to training SAS doctors and clinical scientists. Experience with Winpath LIMS and Cerner EPR is required, with at least half of work onsite.

The role involves in-department duties, ward rounds, team meetings and on-call coverage, with a temporary contract running until 28 February 2027.

Qualifications

• Able to work autonomously including on-call duties.
• Experience with Winpath LIMS and Cerner EPR systems.
• Must be able to work onsite at least 50% of the week.
• Experience in training SAS doctors and clinical scientists.

Role Details

• Able to work autonomously including oncall.
• Should have winpath LIMS and Cerner EPR knowledge
• Needs to be able to work onsite a minimum 50% of the week
• Able to support training for SAS doctors and clinical scientists

Shift Times

• 9am-5pm Monday to Friday
• On call 5-9 Monday to Friday
• On call 9-9 weekends (with predictable work 10-4 Saturday and Sunday days)
