An exciting opportunity has become available to join the Paediatric Palliative Care Team at BWC. We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Consultant in Paediatric Palliative Medicine to contribute to the delivery and ongoing development of specialist palliative care services for children and young people with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions across Birmingham and the West Midlands.
The successful candidate will join an established multidisciplinary team providing high-quality, family-centred care to children with both malignant and non-malignant conditions. Working across hospital, community and network settings, the post holder will play a key role in supporting children, young people and their families from diagnosis onwards, including complex symptom management, advance care planning, end of life care and bereavement support.
This is a substantive Consultant post, expected to comprise 8PAs, with flexibility to meet clinical service requirements.
Based at Birmingham Children's Hospital, a leading national tertiary and quaternary paediatric centre, the successful applicant will work alongside the existing Consultants in Paediatric Palliative Medicine and the wider Palliative Care and Bereavement Team. The service supports an increasing number of children and young people with complex medical needs, working closely with specialist teams across the Trust and partner organisations throughout the region.
