A leading healthcare provider is seeking a Consultant in Paediatric Infectious Diseases to join their renowned team in London. The role involves providing specialist clinical input, leading educational programs, and contributing to research initiatives while supporting paediatric and neonatal services. Candidates must have completed GMC registration and possess relevant training in paediatric infectious diseases.

Paediatric Infectious Diseases Department is the largest of its kind in London, delivering both elective and non-elective activity at a local, secondary, and tertiary level. This internationally renowned, academically led service includes specialty paediatric infectious diseases clinics for HIV, TB, Hepatitis, congenital infections, complex infections, vaccine advice, auto-inflammatory fever syndromes, recurrent infections, and Kawasaki's disease. It provides specialist clinical input to neonatal and paediatric intensive care units, as well as other paediatric services. The service is responsible for paediatric antibiotic policies and antimicrobial stewardship. It is an NHSE-commissioned paediatric centre for airborne and contact High Consequence Infectious Diseases (HCID).

This NHS post aims to strengthen the resilience of the Paediatric Infectious Diseases Team, which currently relies heavily on the academic team for clinical support. It will enable the team to support paediatric and neonatal services within the West London Children's Alliance and across NW London ICB. The postholder will join the acute attending rota, covering wards and providing advice for WLCH and external consults. The role includes leading neonatal and perinatal infections within WLCH and collaborating with the NW London Perinatal Network, including working closely with the infection prevention control (IPC) team to prevent outbreaks.
This position is suitable for post-CCT doctors with clinical training and expertise in paediatric infectious diseases and immunology.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975. A DBS check will be required to screen for any criminal convictions.
Salary depending on experience: £105,504 to £139,882 per annum WTE.
