We are seeking an enthusiastic Consultant in Old Age Psychiatry for our NHS client’s inpatient team based in London. This vacancy is available on a locum basis for the successful candidate to start immediately for a short-term contract.
What will your responsibilities be?
You will be responsible for the comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of elderly patients experiencing a range of psychiatric disorders, including dementia, depression, and schizophrenia. You will provide clinical leadership and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans that promote mental health and independence. Your role will involve close coordination with patients’ families and caregivers, offering support and guidance to ensure holistic care. Additionally, you will be expected to stay updated with the latest advancements in geriatric psychiatry, contribute to the training and supervision of junior medical staff, and participate in research and quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery.
