Position Overview: We seek an experienced Consultant in Old Age Psychiatry to join our team in Greenock, Renfrewshire. You will provide clinical leadership and expertise in old age mental health, supporting psychiatric services for older adults. This role offers an immediate start for an ongoing period of 1 month, full-time (40 hours/week).

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess and diagnose mental health conditions in older adults, including dementia, depression, anxiety, and psychosis.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans using evidence-based practices.
• Provide leadership and supervision to multidisciplinary teams.
• Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and reviews.
• Educate and support patients and families on mental health management.
• Collaborate with external agencies to facilitate integrated care.
• Engage in quality improvement, audits, and research activities.

Requirements:

• Medical degree with specialist training in old age psychiatry, GMC registration, and inclusion on the Specialist Register.
• Significant post-qualification experience in old age mental health services.

• Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies.
• Willingness to participate in on-call duties and training.
• Section 12 Approved Clinician status.
