Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) invites applications for a Consultant Cardiologist in the Heart Failure team. The Heart Institute in Manchester hosts a large team of consultants and multidisciplinary staff, dedicated to high-quality cardiac care, innovation, and patient outcomes.

The role offers opportunities to contribute to clinical service development, teaching, and research, with a focus on heart failure and devices, across MFT sites.

Responsibilities

• Deliver excellent heart failure services for Greater Manchester and surrounding areas
• Contribute to planning and development of heart failure services and support service development
• Provide flexible support and develop in reach services across MFT sites
• Support teaching and research within the department
• Deliver devices and heart failure services for the population of Greater Manchester and surrounding areas
• Contribute to the complex device service

Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic individual to join the Heart Failure team at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust.
As the leading provider of tertiary and specialist healthcare services in Manchester, the Trust treats more than a million patients every year. You will be part of a team of 50 Consultant Cardiologists at the Manchester Heart Institute. The Cardiology department is staffed with energetic, forward-looking cardiologists, and we’re looking for someone similar to join our team.
The role presents an excellent opportunity to showcase your comprehensive understanding of cardiac care, and Heart Failure. Informal visits are encouraged and we would welcome your interest.

Main duties of the job

• To deliver excellent heart failure services, for the population of Greater Manchester and surrounding areas
• To contribute to the planning and development of heart failure services To support service development
• To provide flexible support and develop in reach services across MFT sites
• To support teaching and research within the department
