Post: 1.0 WTE CONSULTANT IN CHILD & ADOLESCENT PSYCHIATRY
Base: NORTH GLASGOW CAMHS, Woodside Health Centre, Maryhill
Applicants are invited for the position of Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, providing 10 sessions to North Glasgow CAMHS as part of the North-East Glasgow psychiatry hub. We welcome applications from candidates interested in part-time work. The post involves working in a community multidisciplinary Child & Adolescent Mental Health Team based at the Woodside Health Centre, 891 Garscube Road, Glasgow, G20 7ET.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the UK's largest health board, Greater Glasgow and Clyde, as a Consultant in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry within Specialist Children’s Services.
Located north of the River Clyde in Glasgow, you will provide psychiatric support and leadership alongside another consultant psychiatrist to a community CAMHS team. The North Glasgow CAMHS team has full multidisciplinary staffing and serves a socio-economically diverse population of approximately 23,000 children and adolescents (0-19 years). It is part of a network of 8 locality-based tier 3 CAMHS teams working with various tier 4 services across NHSGGC and regional services.
CAMHS in NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde is a dynamic and innovative service offering outpatient and inpatient care for children, young people, and families with mental health disorders across a large area. We encourage enthusiastic, forward-thinking candidates to join us. There are opportunities to develop special clinical interests and gain experience in areas such as Learning Disability, Forensic CAMHS, Eating Disorders, and Complex Trauma/LAAC services. The service values diversity in its workforce.
Applicants must have full GMC registration and a license to practice. UK-trained applicants should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and be on the GMC Specialist Register or eligible for registration (CESR), or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from the interview date. Non-UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training. Experience in tier 3 or 4 child and adolescent psychiatry services is essential. Applicants must be registered as an Approved Medical Practitioner under the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act (2003) or be willing to undertake training to obtain this qualification.
