Job summary

Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust seeks two Consultant Anaesthetists to join Barnet and Chase Farm Hospitals. The posts cover theatres with a mix of fixed and flexible sessions and include emergency, trauma, labour ward coverage, plus elective lists.

Successful candidates will hold a CCT in Anaesthesia and join a large, teaching acute trust with extensive services including ENT, trauma and paediatrics. Acute and elective lists will be planned to support service expansion.

Job description

This post is for two full time Consultant Anaesthetists to work on the Barnet, Chase Farm sites. This post covers theatres with a mixture of fixed and flexible sessions.

The successful candidate will be expected to provide anaesthetic cover in various areas. Areas include emergency, trauma and labour ward cover as well as cover for elective theatre lists. The current specialties include Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Urology, General Surgery, Maxillo-Facial, ENT and Orthopaedics.

2 PA Weekend elective lists and weekday activity as per job plan. No oncall commitments

An option for an 11th PA may be offered during job planning depending on service requirements, however, this is not required to undertake. A job planning review will take place

An opportunity has arisen due to retirement and expansion of services for two Consultant Anaesthetists to join the team at Barnet and Chase Farm Hospitals. The role involves delivering adult and paediatric general anaesthesia at Barnet and Chase Farm Hospitals

The successful candidate will have a CCT in Anaesthesia

Barnet Hospital is an acute hospital with all emergency services including ENT, Gen surgery, trauma , orthopaedics, Max Fax , paediatrics , obstetrics, gynae and urology. There are seven operating theatres , interventional cardiology suite and two intensive care units. Chase Farm is an elective hub with eight operating theatres covering all elective specialties.
