Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Consultant in Clinical Haematology to join a team of 12 consultants at Salford Royal Hospital. The role covers inpatient and outpatient care, on-call duties, and involvement in complex haematology therapies across Salford, Bolton and Wigan.
The successful candidate will engage in service development, MDT participation, and academic activity, contributing to high-quality patient care and continued professional development within the trust.
We are looking to appoint a forward-thinking and collaborative Consultant in Clinical Haematology to complement of a team of 12 consultants at the Northern Care Alliance with base hospital being Salford Royal Hospital where there are currently 4.8 WTE consultant haematologists based. This is an exciting opportunity to join an established consultant team providing comprehensive clinical haematology services to the local Salford population whilst also contributing to the management of complex haematological problems arising from the extensive tertiary and regional services.

The successful candidate will be encouraged to contribute not simply as a clinician but as an active member of the wider service. Depending upon experience and interests, opportunities may include clinical pathway redesign, development of advanced therapies, ambulatory care, digital transformation, MDT development, quality and safety improvement, education, research and workforce planning. The role would therefore particularly suit a consultant who wishes to practise high-quality clinical haematology while having a meaningful influence over the future development of the service.
