An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our friendly team of Elderly Consultants at Scarborough Hospital.

We have recently recruited a new Consultant Care of the Elderly Physician and are now looking to expand and develop the consultant workforce within Care of the Elderly even further as we develop our frailty assessment service and virtual wards. As part of this expansion, we want to welcome another consultant to join our friendly, dynamic and enthusiastic team of geriatric physicians based at Scarborough Hospital.

Main duties of the job

The post is offered as 10 programmed activities (PAs) over five days and is currently working toward the implementation of a cardiology on call service in 2023 which will then provide 24/7 cover.   • Ability to demonstrate clinical experience and skill required for gaining UK CCT in GIM & Geriatric Medicine
  • Entry on the GMC Specialist Register in GIM/Geriatric Medicine via CCT (proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of interview) CESR
  • Registered with and holds a licence to practice with the GMC
  • Substantive NHS experience
  • MD or equivalent Higher Degree or evidence of relevant research

Teaching
  • Experience of undertaking audits and presenting their findings
  • Experience of teaching undergraduate and post graduate trainees
