Job summary

Practice Plus Group Hospital Birmingham is seeking an experienced Consultant General Surgeon to deliver a full range of elective general surgery in a modern, purpose-built facility.

The role offers flexible, bank/contract work with ad-hoc late evenings and weekend shifts; part-time options considered. You will work closely with consultants across specialties and with the Medical Director and Leadership Team.

• Qualified surgeon on the GMC specialist register.
• Experience in general surgery, especially laparoscopic procedures.
• Able to conduct clinical audits.

Responsibilities

We’re looking for an experienced and highly skilled Consultant General Surgeon to join our dedicated team at the Practice Plus Group Hospital Birmingham. This role offers the opportunity to deliver high-quality elective care in a modern, brand new, purpose-built hospital.

You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering specialist care, with first-line cover provided by RMOs, the on-call responsibility is minimal and shared on a rota with colleagues.

What you’ll be doing

As our General Surgeon, you will provide a full range of surgical diagnosis, treatment and care to inpatients, day patients and outpatients who require general surgery.

We are only looking consultants wanting a bank/flexible contract, working patterns will be flexible and may entail an ad-hoc mix of late evenings and weekend work to meet the requirements of the unit. Part Time applications will also be considered.

As a key member of the centre’s team you will be working closely with our team of Consultants across a wide range of specialisms and the hospital’s Medical Director, and local Leadership Team.
