Job summary

University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust seeks two fixed-term consultant anaesthetists for 12 months to join a dynamic department with a strong teaching, research and innovation ethos. Posts span Royal Sussex County Hospital and Princess Royal Hospital, covering a mix of tertiary general work and routine anaesthesia across obstetrics, colorectal, orthopaedics and urology.

Qualifications

• Basic Medical Degree and GMC registration or eligibility.
• OFRCA or recognised equivalent required.
• UK CCT in Anaesthetics or within six months of interview.
• Evidence of training equivalence if trained outside the UK.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe perioperative anaesthetic care for complex procedures.
• Lead perioperative quality improvement (QI) projects.
• Supervise trainees and assess the multi-disciplinary team.
• Contribute to teaching of undergraduates and postgraduates.
• Work across Royal Sussex County Hospital and Princess Royal Hospital.
