The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is seeking to appoint a Consultant Gastroenterologist to join our team. The Department of Gastroenterology serves Shropshire and Mid Wales, comprising 8 Consultant Gastroenterologists and 1 Consultant Hepatologist across both hospital sites.

The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust (SaTH) provides acute hospital services for approximately 500,000 residents in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin, and Mid Wales. Our catchment area includes picturesque regions from the Cambrian Mountains to Newport and the Black Country, with main towns such as Bridgnorth, Ludlow, Market Drayton, Oswestry, Shrewsbury, Whitchurch, Newport, Telford, Wellington, Newtown, and Welshpool. Our primary locations are the Princess Royal Hospital in Telford and the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, both providing a comprehensive range of acute services including emergency, outpatient, diagnostics, inpatient, and critical care.
A formal job plan will be established within 3 months of appointment, in collaboration with the Clinical Director and colleagues, and reviewed annually. The full-time role is based on a 10 PA working week, covering clinical duties, teaching, research, education, and management. The plan details commitments and objectives aligned with service improvements and strategic priorities.
