Qualifications

• MBBS and MRCP or equivalent qualifications required.
• Entry on GMC Specialist Register or eligibility within six months is essential.
• Evidence of completion of specialist training or equivalent, MD/PhD or BCSP accreditation preferred.
• Accredited and independent in upper and lower GI endoscopy; BCSP / JAG experience advantageous.
• NHS experience within the last 3 years is expected.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver the Bowel Cancer Screening Programme within the Trust, with subspecialty interest in BCSP and complex polyps (EMR).
• Contribute to audit and service improvement plans in line with BCSP/JAG standards.
• Provide general gastroenterology services including inpatient care, outpatient clinics, and on-call GI rota.
• Participate in education, training, and supervision of trainees and endoscopy staff.
• Support outpatient transformation and endoscopy recovery while helping achieve RTT/2-week wait and 18/31/62 day targets.

Education

MBBS, MRCP or Equivalent

GMC Specialist Register eligibility within six months

Specialist training completion or equivalent

Higher degree in medicine (MD, PhD or equivalent)

BCSP Accredited

Endoscopy: Upper GI and Lower GI accredited/independent
