Job summary

Bupa Dermatology in Oxford is seeking a Consultant Dermatologist to join our Stratum Clinic on a self-employed basis. The role offers part-time hours (minimum 8 per week) with a percentage split of fees, focusing on delivering high-quality outpatient dermatology care.

You will provide expert assessment, diagnosis, and management, perform minor procedures, and contribute to governance and education within a multidisciplinary team at Stratum Clinic Oxford.

Qualifications

• GMC registration with a licence to practise and Specialist Register entry in Dermatology.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of a wide range of dermatological conditions.
• Deliver high-quality outpatient dermatology services, ensuring excellent clinical outcomes and patient experience.
• Perform dermatological procedures as appropriate, including biopsies, excisions and minor surgical interventions.
• Develop personalised treatment plans and provide clear advice to patients regarding management of acute and chronic skin conditions.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant patient records in line with professional and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including GPs, specialist nurses, surgeons, and allied healthcare professionals.
• Contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement initiatives, and service development activities.
• Ensure adherence to all relevant clinical guidelines, patient safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
• Support teaching, mentoring, and knowledge sharing within the wider clinical team where appropriate.
• Maintain continuous professional development and stay up to date with advancements in dermatology practice and treatments.

Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:

• GMC registration with a licence to practise and Specialist Register entry in Dermatology.

• Strong experience diagnosing and treating a wide range of dermatological conditions.

• Confident in performing dermatology procedures and minor skin surgery.

• Excellent clinical judgement and decision-making skills.

• Strong communication and patient care skills.

• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
