Sussex Community Dermatology Services (SCDS) is one of the largest independent providers of NHS dermatology services in the UK. We are seeking ambitious Consultant Dermatologists to work with us in the South-East of England. You will join a team of 23 consultants providing expert care in the diagnosis and management of dermatological conditions, including inflammatory skin diseases, skin cancer, and complex cases.

We are passionate about providing the best service while working as part of a close-knit team to address NHS waiting lists. This is an exciting opportunity to be rewarded on a pay-per-patient model for the work you complete.

Main duties of the job

• Deliver high-quality outpatient care to patients referred from primary and secondary care
• Assess and manage a wide range of dermatological conditions, including skin cancer and inflammatory diseases
• Participate in multidisciplinary teams and support junior clinicians

About us

SCDS and Kent Integrated Dermatology Services (KIDS) effectively triage dermatoses into clinics for a see-and-treat approach during initial appointments, reducing follow-ups. The services work alongside an experienced nurse prescribing team, qualified to manage patients on systemic and biologic therapies. Our clinical offerings include day surgery, minor operations, dermoscopy, patch testing, photodynamic therapy, and phototherapy. Our focus remains on meeting patients' needs and preferences, prioritizing their wellbeing.

We collaborate with NHS trusts and integrated care boards to deliver over 100,000 new patient consultations annually, covering the full cancer pathway, biologics, and subspecialties. We are a GMC-recognized designated body for revalidation, providing annual appraisals for our consultants.

Job responsibilities

Join our team of 23 consultants providing expert care in diagnosing and managing dermatological conditions, including inflammatory skin diseases, skin cancer, and complex cases. We staff clinics across Sussex, including general dermatology, 2-week wait pathways, and minor operations.
