Job summary

CS UK Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Consultant Child and Young People Psychiatrist for a hospital near Charlwood, Surrey. The role involves working with male patients aged 18+ detained under the Mental Health Act in a low/medium secure setting, delivering admission assessments and treatment plans with governance involvement.

Qualifications

• Full GMC Registration
• Experience with CAMHS Forensic and/or Eating Disorders desirable
• Approval under Section 12 of the Mental Health Act
• Ability to work alongside and lead a multidisciplinary team
• In-depth knowledge of Mental Health Legislation
• Knowledge of risk assessment and risk management principles

Responsibilities

• Reviewing referrals and determine appropriateness for admission
• Conducting admission assessments and maintain effective management plans of all young people on the unit
• Conducting risk assessments and review regularly
• Allocating specialist psychological treatments in line with individual needs
• Ensuring effective liaison with referring teams
• Facilitating regular CPA review meeting
• Acting as Responsible Clinician for young people detained under the Mental Health Act
• Involvement in quality, inspections and governance processes
