A leading heart and lung hospital in Cambridge is seeking a substantive NHS consultant surgeon. You will play a key role in adult cardiac surgery and organ retrieval, joining a team dedicated to education and research. The position offers a flexible job plan and opportunities for involvement in training and clinical standards. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in cardiac surgery and a commitment to maintaining high practice standards.
We are excited to advertise for a substantive NHS consultant surgeon post at the Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust ("Royal Papworth Hospital"). The post-holder must have a proven ability in all aspects of adult cardiac surgery, with a sub-specialty interest in transplantation and organ retrieval.
This full-time post will join the existing team of 18 cardiothoracic surgery consultants while supporting education and research as part of Royal Papworth Hospitals' Tripartite Mission.
The post will have a flexible job plan for operating sessions and outpatient clinics. There are regular in-patient ward rounds in the critical care area and on the surgical wards. The post-holder will be required to join the transplant team, including attendance at the transplant patient listing, inpatient MDT and review of organ donor offers.
