Job summary

Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust invites applications for a full-time Consultant Breast Oncoplastic Surgeon to join a four-consultant team delivering comprehensive breast care across screening and symptomatic pathways.

The post requires GMC registration, Specialist Register or CCT within six months, and MBBS with MRCP or equivalent qualifications. Interviews are scheduled for 7th December 2026.

Qualifications

• Must hold Full GMC registration and be on Specialist Register or within six months of CCT at interview.
• MBBS or equivalent medical qualification is required.
• MRCP or equivalent medical qualification is required.
• UK-trained applicants must have CCT or be within six months of award.

Responsibilities

• Outpatient Clinics (screening and symptomatic) and operating sessions.
• Ward rounds and pre/post-operative clinical administration.
• Lead and supervise a surgical team; manage waiting lists and operating lists.
• Participate in MDT and contribute to audit, training, CPD.

Education

MBBS or equivalent medical qualification

MRCP or equivalent medical qualification

Full GMC registration and on Specialist Register or within six months of receipt of CCT
