Job summary
East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust (ESNEFT) invites applications for a Consultant Anaesthetist at Ipswich Hospital. We are expanding our permanent team and welcome colleagues with interests in perioperative medicine and various anaesthetic subspecialties.
The department offers a supportive environment, development opportunities, flexible working and collaboration across theatres and teaching settings.
Qualifications
- Must be on GMC Specialist Register in Anaesthesia or be eligible for entry within 6 months of interview
- FRCA or equivalent credential required
- Evidence of CPD and involvement in ongoing professional development
- Experience at NHS consultant level in anaesthesia
- Ability to lead teaching and training of junior staff and students
- Commitment to patient safety and clinical governance
- Full driving licence and access to a car
- Experience with research translation into clinical practice
Responsibilities
- Clinical responsibilities include general anaesthesia for a range of cases and supervision of junior staff
- Participation in perioperative medicine and multi-disciplinary care
- Teaching and training of junior doctors and students
- Contributions to clinical governance and quality improvement
- Participation in service development and policy implementation
