Job summary

Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust seeks a Consultant in Anaesthesia with a special interest in Perioperative medicine to join its Stanmore site team. The role includes 10 PAs with a mix of direct clinical care and SPAs, with diverse duties spanning perioperative care, teaching, and research.

Applicants should hold FRCA or GMC-recognised qualifications, full GMC registration, and be on the Specialist Register or eligible for it.

Qualifications

• Requires FRCA or GMC-recognised qualification and full GMC Registration.
• Entry on GMC specialist register with CCT or equivalent (or on Specialist Register).
• Includes ALS and APLS/EPLS and basic medical qualifications (MBBS).

Responsibilities

• Join team of consultant anaesthetists providing anaesthesia at RNOH.
• Provide pre and post-operative care.
• Participate in teaching trainee anaesthetists.
• Attend postgraduate meetings and departmental audits.
• Attend consultant administrative meetings.
• Undertake audit of personal practice.
• Contribute to service improvement and clinical governance.
• Engage in research activities.
