Job summary

Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for a Consultant Anaesthetist at The Royal Oldham Hospital. The post supports a 10 PA block, with theatre coverage, obstetric anaesthesia delivery, on-call duties, and involvement in paediatric OR suite expansion.

You will join a dynamic team with CT/ST trainees, extensive opportunities for simulation training, research involvement, and a commitment to professional development and work-life balance.

Qualifications

• MBChB or equivalent qualification in medicine.
• Higher Level Obstetrics qualification or training.
• Postgraduate degree (MD/PhD/MSc).
• FRCA or equivalent essential for consultant anaesthetist.
• APLS and ATLS/ETC certifications desirable.
• Current Advanced Life Support certification.
• Completion of CCT/higher specialist training in Anaesthesia.
• GMC registration and Specialist Register.
• Proven expertise in obstetric anaesthesia and ophthalmic regional techniques.

Responsibilities

• Provide consultant anaesthetic cover across theatres and obstetric cases.
• Deliver obstetric anaesthesia and contribute to paediatric case mix expansion.
• Participate in teaching, audit, and service development.
• Engage in management training and service improvement.
