Job summary

KM Education Recruitment Limited is seeking a Construction Tutor (Trainee or Qualified) for a centre-based, full-time permanent role. You will teach and assess learners aiming for construction qualifications (e.g., Painting, Dry Lining, Carpentry) and support Maths and English skills up to Level 2 within a classroom setting.

Essential criteria include a recognised Level 3 construction trade qualification and solid occupational experience in multi-skilled construction, plus GCSE Maths and English

Qualifications

• Must hold a Level 3 construction trade qualification.
• GCSE Maths and English at grade C or above / Functional Skills equivalent.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Confident and professional with the ability to inspire learners.
• Dri ver and access to a vehicle for site/travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Teach/assess learners working towards multiple construction qualifications in a classroom environment.
• Support learners with Functional Skills English and Maths up to Level 2.
• Overcome barriers to learning and adapt delivery to learners' needs.
• Ensure sessions are motivating and engaging to develop skills, knowledge and behaviours.
• Monitor attendance and progress through regular assessments and reviews.
• Provide guidance to learners on progression and decision making.

Duties

• Teach/assess learners working towards one or more of the following vocational qualifications within Multi Skilled Construction (e.g. Painting and Decorating / Dry Lining / Plumbing / Carpentry etc.), within a classroom-based environment.


• Support learners working towards Functional Skills English and Maths up to Level 2.


• Overcome barriers to learning and adapt delivery to meet learner’s needs.


• Ensure sessions are motivating,engaging and develop learners'skills knowledge and behaviours


• Monitor student attendance and progress through regular student assessment and reviews.


• Provide advice and guidance to learnersrelating to decision making and progression.

Criteria

• Must hold a recognised Level 3 qualification within a Construction trade.


• Must hold solid, occupational experience within Multi-Skilled Construction.


• Must hold own GCSEs in Maths and English at Grade C or above / Functional Skills equivalents.


• Organisational skills are a must, as well as the ability to plan your time effectively.


• Confident and professional with the ability to inspire and motivate people.


• Driver, and use of a vehicle.
