Job summary

KM Recruitment is seeking a Construction Tutor (Trainee or Qualified) for a centre-based role. You will teach and assess learners in Multi Skilled Construction and support their English and Maths up to Level 2.

The ideal candidate holds a Level 3 construction qualification, GCSEs in Maths and English, and has strong organisational and motivational skills. A driver with access to a vehicle is preferred and a permanent, full-time contract is offered.

Qualifications

• Must hold a recognised Level 3 qualification within a Construction trade.
• Must hold GCSE Maths and English at Grade C or above / Functional Skills equivalents.

Responsibilities

• Teach/assess learners working towards vocational qualifications in Multi Skilled Construction in a classroom-based environment.
• Support learners towards Functional Skills English and Maths up to Level 2.
• Overcome barriers to learning and adapt delivery to meet learners' needs.
• Ensure sessions are motivating, engaging and develop learners' skills knowledge and behaviours.
• Monitor student attendance and progress through regular assessments and reviews.
• Provide advice and guidance to learners relating to decision making and progression.

Duties

• Teach/assess learners working towards one or more of the following vocational qualifications within Multi Skilled Construction (e.g. Painting and Decorating / Dry Lining / Plumbing / Carpentry etc.), within a classroom-based environment.
• Support learners working towards Functional Skills English and Maths up to Level 2.
• Overcome barriers to learning and adapt delivery to meet learner’s needs.
• Ensure sessions are motivating, engaging and develop learners' skills knowledge and behaviours
• Monitor student attendance and progress through regular student assessment and reviews.
• Provide advice and guidance to learners relating to decision making and progression.

Criteria

• Must hold a recognised Level 3 qualification within a Construction trade.
• Must hold solid, occupational experience within Multi-Skilled Construction.
• Must hold own GCSEs in Maths and English at Grade C or above / Functional Skills equivalents.
• Organisational skills are a must, as well as the ability to plan your time effectively.
• Confident and professional with the ability to inspire and motivate people.
• Driver, and use of a vehicle.
