Job summary

GME Manufacturing is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Delivery Engineer to lead delivery of multiple infrastructure projects across plants, including civils, structural steel, and mechanical/electrical works.

The role interfaces with internal and external stakeholders to ensure safety, budget, and schedule targets are met from feasibility through to handover. A multi-skilled delivery background with contractor management is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Relevant degree or equivalent experience in Infrastructure, Plant, Electrical or Mechanical fields.
  • Experience across conception to delivery and completion of infrastructure projects.
  • Background in contractor management and site installations with safety emphasis.
  • Knowledge of safety legislation (CDM 2015) and infrastructure methods.

Responsibilities

  • Drive a Zero Harm safety approach in designs and contractor performance.
  • Deliver civil, structural, mechanical and electrical works and facility fit-outs.
  • Support scheme reviews, budgets, cost justifications and planning.
  • Develop and maintain key stakeholder relationships; be the primary source for infrastructure works.
  • Develop and maintain ME infrastructure standards aligned to the operating model.
  • Deliver facilities on budget, on time and to agreed quality standards.
  • Undertake other work assigned by the GME Infrastructure Manager.

Job description

This role will have the accountability for the delivery of several Infrastructure projects within Manufacturing Engineering (ME). The works will include all aspects of Infrastructure delivery, including, Civils, Structural steelwork, mechanical / electrical service installations and general building fitout within the site, using the support of our inhouse and external vendors.

There will be a need to interface with several internal and external stakeholders, including all aspects of Health and Safety, Project Managers, Contractors and all relevant departments to deliver Projects in line with all KPI’s.

This role is a key position in the delivery of GME’s core works, and covers the full spectrum of delivery, from Feasibility, Procurement, Manufacture, Delivery, installation, commissioning and handover.

Accountable for the delivery of Infrastructure Projects within GME Manufacturing plants, using both internal and external contractor base.

  • Drive a “Zero Harm” approach to safety in our designs and contractor performance.
  • This will include civil works, structural steel works, mechanical & electrical works and general facility fit outs.
  • Support the wider business planning, in scheme reviews, budget cost creation and justifications.
  • Support the GME Infrastructure Manager in the development of key stakeholder relationships ensuring that GME is the primary source of all Infrastructure works. This will include stakeholders outside of GME.
  • Support the GME Infrastructure Manager with the development and maintenance of all Infrastructure standards within ME, ensuring they are aligned to support the business operating model.
  • Deliver world class facilities and infrastructure, safely, on budget, on time and to agreed quality standards.
  • Undertake any other work as directed by the GME Infrastructure Manager in connection with their job as may be requested
Skills:
  • Relevant degree qualified or equivalent experience, preferred (but not essential) in Infrastructure, Plant, Electrical or Mechanical disciplines / industry
  • We are seeking experience multiskilled and rounded delivery Engineers, but appreciate you/the successful candidate will have a bias regarding historic discipline, please identify this within your CV submission, i.e. trade associations, prof bodies, competency certs etc.
  • Previous experience and strong background of Infrastructure work from conception through to delivery and completion.
  • Experience in contractor management and site installations, to deliver benchmark Site Safety performance
  • Clear understanding of site safety, and Safety legislation (CDM 2015 Reg etc)
  • Excellent knowledge of Infrastructure methods, materials and skills requirements.
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills
  • Proven experience in leading and managing teams to deliver against tight timescales and budgets
  • Knowledge and experience of supporting the development and costing of proposals, right through to delivery and final project completion.
