Job summary

Global Edge Group is seeking a Construction Subcontract Manager for a major UK gas terminal EPC project. You will lead the Subcontract Engineers/Administrators team, oversee subcontract administration, and manage variations and claims to protect project scope and schedule onsite.

The role requires a minimum of 5 years as a Quantity Surveyor with offshore or complex construction experience in oil & gas or energy sectors, and the ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor in offshore facilities or complex construction projects.
• Experience in Oil & Gas or energy sector preferred.
• Exposure to contract management activities considered

Responsibilities

• Lead the Subcontract Engineers/Administrators team
• Ensure the procedure of Subcontract Administration is implemented and followed by Subcontractors
• Initiate letters and notices to Subcontractors as needed and ensure that the letters and notices from the Subcontractors are appropriately replied to
• Review and validate the progress payment submitted by Subcontractors
• Provide to project management team support in the identification of any variations and or claims with implications on project program and forecasts, if any (i.e. delays/costs)
• Analyse the issued Site Technical Queries, Site Instructions, Deviation Requests to both determine the relevant cost impact and lead the negotiation with Subcontractors for alignment on the price
• Ensure that extra works, new unit prices, claims, back charges, liquidated damages and close out of the Subcontracts are performed / processed in accordance with the relevant procedure
• Participate actively in change management and forecast analysis

Schedule: 5 days per week plus half day Saturday

Global Edge are partnering a client through the EPC phase of a major gas terminal development project in the UK and are seeking a Construction Subcontract Manager to ensure the correct development, management and improvement of new scopes on Mechanical Work – West and Buildings and E&I Works throughout the engineering and development phases (EPIC Projects) of the CCS Project.

• Lead the Subcontract Engineers/Administrators team
• Ensure the procedure of Subcontract Administration is implemented and followed by Subcontractors
• Initiate letters and notices to Subcontractors as needed and ensure that the letters and notices from the Subcontractors are appropriately replied to
• Review and validate the progress payment submitted by Subcontractors

Experience

Minimum 5 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor and previous experience within offshore facilities, industrial plants, or complex construction projects in the Oil & Gas or wider energy sector. Candidates with some exposure to contract management activities will be considered

The successful candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, architectural subcontractors, vendors and the client to ensure building design and architectural requirements are effectively coordinated and delivered onsite.
