Job summary

Airswift is seeking a Construction Subcontract Manager for a 12-month, full-time role based in Talacre, UK. You will oversee subcontract administration, commercial management and forecast analysis on complex EPIC construction scopes in energy and infrastructure.

The ideal candidate has strong QS experience, offshore or complex project exposure, and a track record in subcontract close-out, variation management and cost control.

Qualifications

• Strong experience as a Quantity Surveyor in offshore, industrial or complex construction projects.
• Experience with subcontract management, including commercial administration and close-out activities.
• Experience reviewing progress payments, variations, claims and cost impacts.

Responsibilities

• Subcontract administration and performance management across project scopes.
• Lead Subcontract Engineers and Administrators in a project environment.
• Manage pricing, variations, claims, back charges and liquidated damages.
• Analyse site queries and instructions for cost impact; support programme and cost implications.
• Prepare and respond to letters, notices and subcontract correspondence.

Job description

Job Title: Construction Subcontract Manager Duration: 12 Months Schedule: Full-time, 5.5 days per week Location: Talacre

This opportunity offers the chance to support complex EPIC project activity within the energy and infrastructure sector, with a focus on Mechanical Work, Buildings, and E&I works.

The role is centred on subcontract administration, commercial management, change control, and forecast analysis across technically demanding construction scopes.

This position would suit a professional who can operate effectively in offshore facilities, industrial plants, or other complex construction environments while helping drive project delivery and commercial performance.

Required Experience

• Strong experience as a Quantity Surveyor
• Previous experience within offshore facilities, industrial plants, or complex construction projects
• Previous experience in the Oil & Gas or wider energy sector
• Experience supporting subcontract management, including commercial administration and close-out activities
• Experience reviewing progress payments, variations, claims, and cost impacts linked to project delivery

Required Skills

• Strong subcontract administration and subcontract performance management capability
• Ability to lead Subcontract Engineers and Administrators within a project environment
• Commercial awareness across extra works, unit prices, claims, back charges, liquidated damages, and subcontract close-out
• Ability to analyse Site Technical Queries, Site Instructions, and Deviation Requests to determine cost impact
• Negotiation skills to align pricing and commercial outcomes with subcontractors
• Capability in change management and forecast analysis
• Ability to support project management teams in identifying variations and claims with programme and cost implications
• Strong communication skills for managing letters, notices, and subcontract correspondence

Preferred Qualifications
