Job summary

AJ Chambers are seeking a Construction Solicitor to join their growing legal team. The role involves day-to-day management of files, advising on construction contracts, and drafting witness statements and letters to experts.

The successful candidate will have at least 3 years PQE in contentious construction, a 2:1 degree, and strong communication skills. The position offers hybrid working after probation with three days in the office and two from home.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years post-qualification in contentious construction
• Strong academic background with at least a 2:1 degree
• Solid understanding of Housing Grants, Construction & Regeneration Act 1996
• Ability to manage deadlines and work independently

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day running of files with supervision
• Advise on construction contracts including payments, extensions of time, loss and expense, defects
• Draft witness statements and briefs to counsel
• Prepare letters of instruction to experts and letters of claim
• CE Filing in the Technology & Construction Court
• Liaise directly with clients
• Organise and maintain tidy, accurate files
• Participate in seminars and contribute to department publications
• Follow department procedures and firm policies
• Adapt to new technology and information systems
