Job summary

QED Legal LLP seeks an experienced Construction Solicitor for a 6-month fixed-term contract to support a major capital expenditure project. You will advise on construction contracts, NEC frameworks, and bespoke agreements, working with internal stakeholders and external parties to manage risk and ensure timely delivery.

There is no fixed PQE requirement; the role focuses on relevant construction experience, practical legal advice, and the ability to operate effectively within a project

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor in England & Wales with solid construction law experience.
• Experience working with NEC contracts and exposure to bespoke construction agreements.
• Experience supporting projects or major capital expenditure programmes.
• Comfortable working directly with stakeholders and project teams.
• Commercially minded, pragmatic and able to provide clear, practical legal advice.
• Confident managing contractual issues in a live project environment.

Responsibilities

• Advising on construction contracts and project documentation.
• Working with NEC and bespoke construction contracts.
• Supporting the project team with contractual issues as they arise during the project.
• Providing practical advice on contractual risk, obligations and project delivery.
• Working closely with internal stakeholders and other project professionals.
• Dealing with contractors, suppliers and other external parties where required.
• Supporting the business through the ongoing delivery of the project.
• Providing ad hoc construction and contractual advice as required.
