Job summary

GLASGOW CITY COUNCIL AND ARMS LENGTH ORGANISATION is recruiting a General Operative / Driver to support our Construction and Investment team across City Building projects. You will undertake labouring duties, deliver materials, assist with site logistics, receive deliveries, and help coordinate operatives and vehicle movements.

The role requires a full UK driving licence; telehandler experience (CPCS/NPORS) is desirable.

Qualifications

• Must hold a full UK driving licence.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Experience in construction, labouring or site-based environments is advantageous.
• Telehandler certification (CPCS/NPORS) desirable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver materials and equipment to site and assist with site logistics.
• Receive and distribute deliveries, control site access and coordinate operatives, subcontractors and vehicle movements.
• Carry out banksman duties and maintain high housekeeping standards.
• Ensure safe disposal of site waste and debris; report safety issues to management.
• Carry out daily vehicle inspections and safety checks.
