Job Description:

Being a Construction Planner (Airfields and Civils) at London Gatwick, you'll see the impact your work has on the airport and its passengers. This role offers unique insights and a central position in providing comprehensive planning services for supported projects.

From facilities expansion to security upgrades and runway resurfacing, no two days are the same at London Gatwick. The diverse projects and live environment will keep you challenged and learning.

To support your growth, you'll receive necessary development opportunities. London Gatwick's Construction Department manages several programme and project teams, delivering critical infrastructure for the airport's strategic growth over the next 5 years.

What is the role?

This is an exciting opportunity for a Planner to contribute to Gatwick's infrastructure development within a high-performing team, operating across all project stages for projects up to approximately £50m, providing full planning services including schedule management, technical support, and guidance.

What will you do?

• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules with milestones and monitoring activities, coordinating work sequences with the overall project plan.
• Monitor schedules, identify critical activities, and update functions for various disciplines.
• Apply installation rates to quantities, review contractor schedules, and provide recommendations.
• Evaluate quantities, staffing, and schedule logic, and prepare progress reports.
• Assess contract programmes, analyze delays, and manage schedule acceptance.
• Review quantity logs and assist in developing job hour estimates.
• Compare contractor schedules against baseline, identify critical paths, and analyze performance variances.

Do you have what we are looking for?

• Degree or higher in construction or related field.
• Approximately three years' experience as a planner on projects over £10m.
• Proficiency with Primavera P6 and MS Excel.
• Experience in infrastructure projects in operational environments is desirable.
• Experience with quantity take-offs, analysis, and computer operations.
• Knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, and construction processes.
• Understanding of financial and mathematical reports and NEC contracts.
• Good communication skills.
• Awareness of airport operations is a plus.
• Resilience and ability to operate in ambiguity.
