Job summary

Abingdon and Witney College is seeking a dedicated Progress Coach in its Construction Department to support students across the provision. The role focuses on attendance, progression and personal development, working with staff to identify barriers and deliver timely interventions.

You will monitor progress, create action plans, and signpost learners to financial, academic and wellbeing support. A strong commitment to safeguarding and inclusion is essential.

Qualifications

• Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths (or equivalent).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with young people.
• Organised and able to manage a varied workload.
• Demonstrates initiative and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working collaboratively within a team.
• Commitment to safeguarding, student wellbeing and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Support students' personal development, attendance, achievement and progression.
• Work with colleagues to identify, monitor and address barriers to success through timely interventions.
• Monitor attendance, punctuality, behaviour and performance; take action where required.
• Develop and review action plans and targets with students.
• Signpost learners to appropriate support services (financial, academic, social and wellbeing).
• Support students in developing study, employability and career readiness skills.
• Maintain accurate student records and contribute to positive outcomes.
• Liaise with parents, employers and external agencies to support student success.
