Job summary

hireful is seeking an experienced procurement professional to drive commercial value and support strategic sourcing across goods, works, and services. You will work with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and contractors to deliver value for money, drive commercial improvements, and ensure compliant procurement activities.

The role involves leading end-to-end procurement exercises, guiding teams on specifications and evaluations, and managing supplier relationships to support contract performance

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualification in relevant subject (Supply Chain, Business, Finance or Economics).
• Ideally CIPS membership or working toward procurement qualification.
• Significant experience in procurement, purchasing or supply chain.
• Experience in construction/housebuilding industry with regulatory understanding.
• Knowledge of full procurement lifecycle, sourcing, tendering and contract negotiations.
• Experience managing supplier relationships and procurement projects across spend categories.
• Strong IT literacy including MS Office and procurement systems.
• Willingness to travel across North West sites and hold a UK driving license.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support end-to-end procurement exercises (market testing, RFIs, RFQs, ITTs, mini-competitions).
• Provide procurement guidance, develop specifications, evaluate supplier responses, support awards.
• Manage supplier relationships and support contract performance reviews.
• Identify opportunities to achieve savings and drive value for money across spend areas (construction materials, warehouse services, waste management).
• Maintain procurement workplans, trackers and savings reports; assist benchmarking and market analysis.
• Support supplier onboarding and ensure compliance, governance and process improvements across procurement systems.
