Job summary

Wates is seeking a Construction Planner to join the Smartspace unit and transition from site management into planning. You will gain hands-on training, mentoring, and career development in a fast-paced environment.

You'll develop programmes across fit-out and refurbishment projects, collaborating with Project Managers and on-site teams to ensure on-time delivery and effective control of progress.

Qualifications

• Background in site management, site engineering or project delivery.
• Exposure to fit-out, refurbishment, commercial, retail, healthcare, education or workplace projects.
• Strong understanding of construction activities, sequencing and project delivery.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Proactive approach and willingness to learn.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.

Responsibilities

• Support the development and maintenance of project programmes across multiple fit-out and refurbishment projects.
• Work with Project Managers, Site Managers and construction teams to deliver programmes and provide updates.
• Identify risks, opportunities and constraints to the programme.
• Learn to create detailed project programmes using planning software.
• Support tender and pre-construction teams with programme development and logistics planning.
• Monitor project performance against milestones and delivery targets.
• Participate in project reviews and continuous improvement.
