Job summary

Cavendish Nuclear is seeking a Construction Planner for the Hinkley Point C project near Bridgwater, Somerset. This full-time role (37 hours/week) is based at the site with flexible arrangements allowing four days onsite and one day remote.

You will develop and maintain detailed construction schedules and integrate cross-functional requirements to support safe, efficient delivery.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in construction planning and scheduling.
• Experience producing and maintaining detailed project schedules.
• Experience using Primavera P6 planning software.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed mechanical construction schedules aligned to programme objectives.
• Prepare and update four‑week lookahead plans and longer-term planning activities.
• Monitor progress against planned outputs and provide schedule updates.
• Integrate engineering, materials, resources, access, quality and commissioning requirements into construction plans.
• Confirm activity readiness and collaborate with delivery teams to identify and mitigate risks.

If you join us, you can play your part as a Construction Planner at Hinkley Point C, near Bridgwater, Somerset. The role This is your opportunity to play a key role in delivering one of the largest and most complex infrastructure projects in Europe. Working at the heart of a major nuclear new-build programme, you'll help ensure construction activities are planned, coordinated, and delivered safely and efficiently. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, based at Hinkley Point C. Flexible working arrangements are available, with the potential for a working pattern of four days onsite and one day remote. Day-to-day, you'll be required to:

• Developing and maintaining detailed mechanical construction schedules aligned to programme objectives.
• Preparing and updating four-week lookahead plans and supporting longer-term planning activities.
• Monitoring progress against planned outputs and providing accurate, evidence-based schedule updates.
• Integrating engineering, materials, resources, access, quality and commissioning requirements into construction plans.
• Confirming activity readiness and collaborating with construction and delivery teams to identify and mitigate risks.

Essential experience of the Construction Planner

• Significant experience within a construction planning environment.
• Experience producing and maintaining detailed project schedules.
• Experience using Primavera P6 planning software.
• Experience working on large-scale construction, engineering, maintenance, outage or shutdown projects.
• Experience working in a site-based project environment and engaging with multiple stakeholders.

Qualifications for the Construction Planner

• Higher National Certificate (HNC) in an Engineering discipline., The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role. Further details are available at
