Gold Group is seeking an experienced Construction Planner to join a major £500m new build project in Southampton. The role is site-based within an established planning and delivery team, providing hands-on planning support to ensure the programme aligns with milestones.

The ideal candidate has UK main contractor experience, strong knowledge of planning processes, and proficiency in Asta Powerproject. A proactive, collaborative approach is essential to drive on-site delivery.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Construction Planner / Site Planner in UK main contracting.
• Strong site-based planning experience within a UK main contracting environment.
• Experience working on major new build construction projects.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, methodologies and techniques.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and update detailed construction programmes using Asta Powerproject.
• Provide hands-on planning support to the site delivery team.
• Work closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, Engineers and subcontractors to monitor programme performance.
• Ensure programmes accurately reflect construction methodologies, sequencing and site conditions.
• Coordinate construction activities across multiple disciplines and work packages.
• Attend progress and planning meetings, providing clear programme updates and recommendations.
• Support the project team with short-term, medium-term and long-term planning.
• Identify opportunities to improve sequencing, productivity and overall project delivery.

Title: Construction Planner

Location: Southampton

Salary: £55-75,000 + car allowance + package

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Construction Planner to join a leading UK main contractor on a major £500m new build project in Southampton. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of an established project team delivering a high-profile and technically challenging scheme from the ground up.

The successful candidate will be site based and will work as part of an experienced planning and delivery team, playing an important role in developing, managing and monitoring the construction programme throughout the project lifecycle. Working closely with the Project Manager, site management and wider delivery teams, you'll provide hands-on planning support and ensure programme performance remains aligned with key project milestones.

We're looking for a Construction Planner with strong site-based planning experience, gained within a UK main contracting environment, and a thorough understanding of construction processes, methodologies and sequencing. You'll be confident working closely with site teams, understanding how work is progressing on the ground and translating this into accurate and robust construction programmes.

Strong experience using Asta Powerproject is essential, alongside a solid understanding of construction planning principles and programme management. You'll be proactive, commercially aware and comfortable working in a fast-paced project environment, with the ability to build strong relationships across the project team.
