Ashbrittle Limited, acting for a client in Oxford, is recruiting an Assistant Buyer to join its Company Purchasing Department, working closely with the existing Buyer to provide day-to-day procurement support.

The role focuses on sourcing construction materials and plant at competitive prices, coordinating deliveries to live sites, and ensuring procurement aligns with project requirements and budgets.

Formación

• Experience in construction industry and/or trade counter environment.
• Knowledge of construction materials, building products or plant procurement.
• Experience sourcing materials, obtaining quotations and negotiating with suppliers.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Good organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Proactive, practical approach with strong attention to detail.
• Competent IT and administrative skills, including maintaining accurate purchasing records.

Responsabilidades

• Source, negotiate and procure construction materials at competitive prices.
• Coordinate and manage delivery of materials and plant to live sites.
• Identify, assess and select reliable suppliers and contractors.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers, contractors, clients and site operatives.
• Ensure all procured materials meet required technical specs and quality standards.
• Monitor supplier performance, procurement activity and cost savings, prepare reports.
• Liaise with suppliers to check, process and clear invoices for payment.
• Carry out daily, weekly and monthly checks to keep purchasing paperwork accurate.
• Provide general purchasing and administrative support to the Buyer.
• Assist with additional ad hoc duties as required by the business.
