Job Title: Construction Manager South West – Infrastructure Division

Purpose of the role:

As Construction Manager, you will lead construction activities within the Project Teams, promoting health, safety, environmental, and construction best practices.

Key Accountabilities

  • Create a safe working environment.
  • Manage teams during the construction phase.
  • Coordinate constructability input during preliminary design.
  • Plan and allocate construction resources efficiently.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Site Teams, and HR to develop the resource pool.
  • Manage construction resources including labour, plant, and materials.
  • Manage subcontractors' performance and relationships.
  • Identify technical issues and feedback to design teams.
  • Ensure teams meet schedules and budgets.
  • Adhere to Health and Safety legislation.
  • Authorize Health and Safety Plans.
  • Ensure activities comply with quality plans.
  • Prioritize safety in all tasks and report issues.
  • Implement Quality, Safety, and Environmental policies.
  • Comply with Galliford Try BMS.

Person Specification:

To succeed, you should:

  • Promote a positive safety, quality, and FREDIE culture.
  • Have experience managing multiple teams and developing their skills.
  • Have strong project management skills and a proven track record.
  • Develop a performance-focused culture.
  • Possess excellent communication skills.
  • Have strong knowledge of CDM and NEC contracts.
  • Demonstrate leadership and delegation skills.

Technical / Professional Qualifications:

  • Experience in Environment.
  • HND/Degree in Engineering.
