Job summary

Bilfinger UK is seeking a Construction Manager to lead on-site construction activities, delivering projects on time, within budget and to high HSE standards. You will coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders, including clients and subcontractors, to ensure contract compliance (NEC3/4) and quality.

The role requires extensive EPC Civil & Construction site experience, CSCS and APMP qualifications, and a proven ability to manage risks, budgets and commissioning handovers.

Qualifications

• Experience in EPC contracts (Civil & Construction).
• Managing budgets and financial controls on large projects.
• Subcontractor management and performance oversight.
• Project management experience on multi-million pound schemes.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Safety, Health & Environmental protection are given the highest priority throughout all construction activities.
• Work with the project HSE Team to manage HSE activities throughout the construction and commissioning phases of the project.
• Act as the 'Principal Contractor' under the CDM Regulation 1994.
• Ensure construction hazards are managed throughout the project.
• Use appropriate quality systems for the control of construction information.
• Identify and manage all key construction risks to minimise their impact on the project.
• Work with the construction and wider project team to successfully deliver the project requirements.
• Liaise with the key customer plant personnel to ensure the construction plan is consistent with current standards and local requirements.
• Provide appropriate construction support for commissioning.
• Ensure construction meets appropriate quality standards supported by agreed test requirements.

The Role: Construction Manager

To manage the development and delivery of the construction activities to meet key targets of time, cost, quality and HSE agreed by the business. You must have an extensive on-site construction management and execution experience. working closely with internal and external stakeholders and be familiar with forms of contract such as NEC3/4 and IChemE.

Specific Activities

• Develop and approve the construction elements of the project programme for your agreed areas
• Produce and maintain the project Contract Arrangements Plan and file
• Check, approve and record issue of all information to construction sub-contractors
• Raise purchase orders and manage contracts for construction activities where required
• Lead the relevant Construction Meetings
• Aid in monitoring and report on construction performance including, progress, costs, HSE etc.
• Approve 'site variations' within agreed budget where required
• Arrange completion of key quality inspections and associated documentation & certificates during construction e.g. pressure tests
• Check, approve and record issue of all information and systems for handover to commissioning
