Job summary

Bilfinger UK is seeking a Construction Manager to lead on-site construction activities, ensuring time, cost, quality and HSE targets are met. You will work with internal and external stakeholders, managing contracts, budgets and subcontractors on major EPC projects.

Qualifications

• Experience in EPC contracts (Civil & Construction).
• Managing budgets / Financial controls.
• Subcontractor management in large-scale projects.
• Project management experience on projects above £10m.
• HND/C in Civil or related discipline required.
• Accredited CSCS card required.
• APMP accreditation beneficial.
• NEC Project Manager certification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Safety, Health & Environmental protection is priority across all construction activities.
• Collaborate with HSE team to manage activities in construction and commissioning.
• Act as Principal Contractor under CDM Regulation 1994.
• Identify and manage construction hazards to minimise project impact.
• Utilise quality systems for construction information control and handover readiness.
• Identify and manage key construction risks and mitigation plans.
• Coordinate with project team to meet construction requirements and standards.
• Liaise with customer plant personnel to align construction with local requirements.
• Provide construction support for commissioning activities.
• Ensure construction meets quality standards and test requirements.
• Develop and approve construction elements of the project programme.
• Produce and maintain the Contract Arrangements Plan and records.
• Issue information to subcontractors and record approvals.
• Raise purchase orders and manage contracts for construction activities.
• Lead relevant Construction Meetings and governance forums.
• Monitor and report construction performance including progress, costs, and HSE.
• Approve site variations within budget limits.
• Arrange key quality inspections and documentation for handover.
