Balfour Beatty plc is building delivery teams for the Net Zero Teesside Power project in the UK. We are seeking experienced construction managers from mechanical, piping and process backgrounds to lead safe, efficient delivery on a landmark energy project.
The role focuses on managing significant mechanical and piping work packages within a major EPC environment, coordinating across trades and interfaces, and ensuring site readiness and quality throughout the construction phase.
Help deliver one of the UK’s most significant energy infrastructure projects.
Balfour Beatty is building its delivery team for Net Zero Teesside Power, and we’re looking to connect with experienced Construction Managers from mechanical, piping and process backgrounds as we prepare for the next stages of this landmark project.
Net Zero Teesside Power is a major part of the UK's transition towards a lower-carbon energy future. Balfour Beatty is working alongside Technip Energies and GE Vernova on what will be the world's first commercial-scale gas-fired power station designed with integrated carbon capture and storage (CCS).
The facility is designed to generate up to 742MW of electricity, enough to meet the average annual power needs of more than one million UK homes, whilst capturing approximately 95% of its carbon dioxide emissions. More than 3,000 people are expected to work on the scheme during construction.
As activity on the project develops, we're now looking to strengthen our construction delivery capability with experienced mechanical and piping Construction Managers.
We're particularly keen to hear from people with a strong track record of managing the safe and effective delivery of significant mechanical, piping or process packages on major construction and engineering projects.
Relevant technical experience could include mechanical plant and equipment, process pipework, high and low-pressure piping systems, balance of plant, turbines, boilers or HRSG, testing and commissioning. These areas align closely with Balfour Beatty Kilpatrick's established mechanical delivery capability.
Why Net Zero Teesside?
Net Zero Teesside brings together power generation and carbon capture infrastructure at commercial scale, creating an opportunity to help deliver infrastructure with national significance.
For experienced mechanical and piping Project Managers, it's an opportunity to take the expertise developed on major engineering programmes and bring it to one of the UK's most significant emerging energy infrastructure projects.
