Job description

Construction Manager Role Overview

The Construction Manager is responsible for the successful delivery of assigned construction projects from mobilisation through to completion and handover. Reporting to the Head of Construction, the role is accountable for ensuring projects are delivered safely, to the required quality standards, within programme, and in alignment with the Company's commercial and operational objectives. The Construction Manager provides overall leadership and coordination across project activities, including programme management, cost control, risk mitigation, subcontractor coordination, and the integration of the project team, while ensuring Company standards, governance procedures, and technical requirements are consistently applied.

The role oversees the performance of Package Managers, Site Supervisors, and the wider site team, providing clear direction and ensuring delivery remains aligned with project objectives and Company expectations. The Construction Manager is responsible for monitoring programme milestones, managing change within the project scope, and maintaining effective communication with internal stakeholders, consultants, and supply chain partners. This role is primarily site-focused; however, depending on project scale, phase, and operational requirements, it may operate on a site-based or hybrid basis, balancing on-site leadership with office-based planning, coordination, and reporting activities.

The ideal candidate will have experience managing mechanical construction work packages within a live project environment. You will be confident coordinating subcontractors, managing labour, maintaining site documentation, and supporting safe delivery on site.

Candidate should be organised, proactive, and able to communicate effectively with site teams, project leads, subcontractors, and clients. Candidates should be comfortable working independently on and managing a team of Package Managers/Supervisors on larger-scale projects.

Requirements
  • Experience in mechanical engineering construction or a similar site-based environment.

  • Experience with RAMS, permits, POWRA, ITPs, and site files.
  • Ability to plan, coordinate, and manage weekly site activities.
  • Experience managing larger teams and work packages.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work closely with construction heads, subcontractors, and client representatives
