Job summary

Reed is seeking an experienced Pre-Construction Manager to join our UK team, coordinating the pre-construction process from procurement through to site mobilisation between the Slough office and Bristol site. You will work with project management, manufacturing, suppliers and subcontractors across the UK and Europe to ensure well-planned, resourced projects.

• Degree in Civil/Structural/Construction field.
• Experience in pre-construction, project engineering or technical project delivery.
• Knowledge of structural steelwork, precast concrete, modular construction or specialist building systems.
• Experience managing subcontractors, suppliers and procurement processes.
• German language skills desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Managing the procurement and subcontract tendering process.
• Reviewing subcontractor documentation, including insurances, accreditations and compliance records.
• Coordinating suppliers, manufacturing schedules and subcontractor resources.
• Supporting production planning and installation sequencing.
• Managing transportation logistics and delivery programmes, including overseas suppliers where required.
• Acting as a technical point of contact for materials, specifications, fabrication and quality requirements.
• Liaising with commercial and finance teams regarding measurements, valuations and invoicing.
• Coordinating multiple stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery from pre-construction to site execution.

We are working on behalf of a leading international specialist contractor is seeking an experienced Pre-Construction Manager to join its growing UK team.

The Role

Working as a key link between project planning and operational delivery, you will take responsibility for coordinating the pre-construction process from procurement through to site mobilisation.

You'll work closely with project management, manufacturing teams, suppliers and subcontractors across the UK and Europe, ensuring projects are effectively planned and resourced before construction begins.

Key responsibilities include:

Requirements

• Degree or qualification in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Engineering, Steel/Metal Technology or a related discipline.
• Previous experience within pre-construction, project engineering or technical project delivery.
• Knowledge of structural steelwork, manufacturing, precast concrete, modular construction or specialist building systems.
• Experience managing subcontractors, suppliers and procurement processes.

Strong organisational and stakeholder management skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Basic CAD knowledge would be advantageous.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.

German language skills would be highly desirable but are not essential.
