Job description

About the role

Construction Manager - Balfour Beatty (@one Alliance)

Lead. Innovate. Deliver.

@one Alliance is a partnership of eight leading companies: Anglian Water, Balfour Beatty, Barhale, Binnies, MMB, MWH Treatment, Skanska, and SWECO. We are delivering over half of Anglian Water's capital investment programme. As we enter AMP8, our most ambitious Asset Management Period, we are preparing for our largest project yet. This is a unique opportunity to drive industry change, set global standards, and foster career growth.

We are looking for a Construction Manager to lead the delivery of innovative solutions for AMP8.

As Construction Manager, you will oversee the management of quality, cost, and timely delivery of all construction activities on site. You will manage the construction delivery team to ensure all activities comply with scheme deliverables from a developed solution at DM3, ready for site and project completion, aiming for Zero defects at DM4 in collaboration with the delivery team.

While the role primarily focuses on managing construction delivery, you must adopt a wider pan-Alliance perspective, modeling appropriate Alliancing behaviors and leadership skills within integrated teams.

What you'll be doing

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead and inspire site construction teams, managing resources across multiple projects.
  • Ensure efficient, high-quality, and cost-effective project delivery.
  • Review and approve RAMS, ensuring full compliance with safety standards.
  • Take ownership of constructability reviews, project rehearsals, and Fit for Assembly signoffs with the Project Delivery Manager.
  • Oversee workforce allocation, optimizing efficiency across partner companies.
  • Collaborate with the Site Manager to develop and implement construction phase plans.
  • Manage direct labour teams from various partner companies.
  • Work with other Construction Managers in the alliance to allocate the workforce weekly, based on location, skills, and scheme duration.
  • Co-create and collaborate on production, submission, and compliance with construction phase plans with the Site Manager.

Who we're looking for

Qualifications and experience:

  • Experience managing operational resources in a multi-site construction environment.
  • SMSTS and Site Environmental awareness training.
  • CSCS card (Manager level).
  • Minimum degree/HNC or equivalent qualification, e.g., NVQ Level 6.
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Leadership skills.

This is more than just a job—it's a chance to lead, innovate, and make a lasting impact on infrastructure's future.

Are you ready for this exciting challenge? Apply now and be a driving force in AMP8's success!
